As the founder of Deeply Rooted Psychological Services, Heidi is dedicated to creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported on their journey toward healing and wholeness. Drawing inspiration from the grounding wisdom of nature and the expansive guidance of the stars, Heidi offers a heart-led, holistic approach that honors the innate human capacity for growth and self-healing.

Heidi holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University and brings expertise in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Formal Assessment. Her areas of specialization include psychological assessment and diagnosis, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders (including PTSD and complex trauma), and Indigenous counselling.

Heidi’s therapeutic approach is tailored to the unique needs and life story of each client. She integrates evidence-based modalities — including Narrative Exposure Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with somatic techniques. Whether navigating deep traumatic wounds or reaching for new possibilities, Heidi believes in the power of connection, the wisdom of the heart, and the ability we all carry within us to heal and transform.

Outside of her work, Heidi finds joy and inspiration in nature — hiking, camping, backpacking, kayaking, and wandering the woods with her beloved dog pack. She has a deep passion for learning about the origins of human existence, expanding her mind, exploring spirituality, and growing and nurturing plant life. 

You can often find her collecting sea glass and rocks along the shore with her daughter, always seeking beauty, meaning, and connection in the natural world.
